Thank-you Ken!
Thank-you Cheryl!
Ken! I have a bunch of these Lillies!
I need to somehow get some strength to transplant them after they stop blooming. I guess a fall project for it’s way to hot now to be planting more flowers. I think we are going to have a hot one this year! Hugs

I had to turn my heat on this morning. COLDDDDDDDDDDDD! It’s at the freezing mark this morning too. In the 30’s. Can tell it’s cold too because my house feels chilled.
And today I have to get out in it! Have to take my mom up the road to get a perm in her hair. 2 hours of being out in the chilly stuff. Don’t mind getting my mom out but hate feeling cold.
Good luck on the storm Sue and Kitt! My hand in the real cold go completely numb. They get all dead feeling. Hope you warm up today some! Hugs

I totally agree! Lets do our voting and get some good people in office here! I think Norb would make a good President! Kitt would make a good Vice President! Jan! Secretary of State, Allaug can replace Condaleeza Rice, Ken would make a good Senator… Jim, a Congressman. And the rest of us can become Congress leaders or Senators.
Me! I’ll through my Mayor out of town and take his place! Hey! I think we would all make a good team here! We seem to have more logic and see what is going on. ๐
We can have a voting contest!

True: The two companies merging together just might save the car industry in the US making us what we were years ago. If they do things wisely and build the right product. Making others having to compete with us. But they will have to work hard at it and bring the right type of car in the market at a fair market value. I don’t think many of us are interested in $30000.00 cars right now! GM and Chrysler can either make it or break it! But it’s up to them to put our work place back in America and making a car more afordable in today’s economy. Not thinking $30000.00 cars but more affordable ones.
TNP: Is seeing their grandchildren today!

Hi Linda,
Thanks for the hugs and for asking. I took a benydryl to sleep last night. I really have problems with sleep with all the stinging, buzzing, twitching, and tightness. Of course the docs wanted me to take Ambien (I felt crazy the next day and only slept 6 hours), Lorazepam (4 hours sleep), Klonipin (bad “hangover and weakness” the next morning). I’ve never taken drugs through life, only herbs (I’m an herbalist). So I think my body is sensitive to drugs…………………This morning I woke sore, stiff joints, achy, shakey, headache, difficulty thinking, and tingling on the outside of my extremities (pinkys and pinky toes, side of hands and feet)……….I KNOW it’s the prednisone, so I called the doc and told her I wanted her to wean down the dosage, which she agreed, so now it’s 50mg a day………..we’ll see. I do feel better right now, been drinking lots of water to flush anything! lol I know I went into a novel of sorts, but believe that someone might find it useful!
How’s you’re day going??

Now that picture has me laughing. I would have never thought doing something like that one! LOL! Gives me some ideas here for next Halloween. I think I’m going to have myself a Rum and Coke! Have not had one of them in years! Kind of have a craving for that! Hope everybody has a great day today! Nice and warm at my house so I am opening up some doors and windows and getting some fresh air!

This is interesting about the antibiotics. Even though I am not a GBS patient, I do have problems with Sulfa Drugs. So any antibiotic that has sulfa causes problems for some Lupus patients as well. The sulfa can trigger flares. Not all lupus patients have problems with this but there are many that do have problems getting flares taking the sulfa drugs. Sounds to be the case here also with GBS.

True! Wow Jan! How did you know! I love sleeping with my window open in the early spring and fall. The fresh air smells so good and hearing the crickets and other outdoor nature creatures are so relaxing. Summer and winter though no windows open. Too hot or too cold.

Something my father used to do and I catch myself doing it to my grandchildren. Give them a candy bar and sit there watching them eating it. Then say poor Grandma would love to have a bite of that candy bar! “Don’t you want to give poor old grandma a bite?” They come over and decide to share it with you when you suddenly take a huge heaping bite out of the bar leaving just a small nub left! ๐ The expression on their faces! LOL!
The next visit.. they get wise and they will share a bite but will pinch off what they want you to have! ๐ ๐

Wow Jan! That breakfast sounds good. I think I will take a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sandwich and a cup of coffee this morning. Got a pretty bad hangover from my drinking binge over the weekend. ๐ Plus I have to go in for labs this morning. Yuk yuk! Needles needles and more needles. Hate those nasty needles.
Wishing you all a great day! I will be out most of the morning getting labs done. Want to stop buy a store and see if I can find Christmas wrapping paper. Yeah I know~ I’m an early bird! Might be too early!

True: I don’t know how many times I have sat around looking in the clouds finding funny faces or people figures. All kinds of figures! I too remember going somewhere that had a paneling wall and would look into the wood to see what figure I would find.

True: I must say my husband is good to me but sometimes we just don’t get that good guality time that we need together. His job and coming home tired and me being sick. It seems like we can’t have what we would really like. I would love to get well again and he take a vacation and we go to somewhere romantic. A romantic weekend!
TNP: Has many cats!

True: Actually started my Christmas shopping back in June and am almost done! When I get sick like I have been lately, I tend to get worried and start preparing for months of feeling bad and did not want to see myself in December having a hard time walking and fighting the crowds! ๐ So I have been buying one gift here and one gift there!
TNP: Loves eating popcorn!

I stayed off this site for a couple of days due to us having to wait for our answer on Dr. Levin. I am so sorry to hear the news. Keep in mind that at least you know something now. I felt you were so worried lately that I knew something would happen soon. I was so concerned for you then and again now.
I keep telling myself that you can only take so much and that everyone is praying for you so it will be ok.
I am worried about the same thing for my husband for certain reasons and the waiting does just not help so I am at least happy for you that you now know.
I did know someone a long time ago that had her thyroid taken out and did fine so I am hoping the best for you.
I need to keep faith for all of us.
Hugs back

Oh Linda I just cannot believe this whole cidp thing. My husband does get tingling in fingers and that only started the last couple of months. Plus either hot or cold on arms. That is when I told the neuro it is spreading. Now he does not have anything on face. If you have a neuro where you are cannot he do something. I would call anyway and tell him he has to either do something for you now or you will have to go to er at Duke. It is terrible to feel so bad that you are desperate, but when Bill worke up at 2 in morning and said something not right I did not hestate and took him to a hospital not the one our neuro works at. His nurse said if I had gone to his he would have come into see him.
I told her (grinding my teeth) I did not know if he was going to die before I got him into a hospital and did not want to drive that far. This was an emergency.
Where do you live now.? Please do whatever you have to do. I wish I could do something for you.
Hugs to you

I do not know if you already knew, he was diagnosed with cidp back in January but has actually had it for 2 1/2 years now but had trouble finding a doc who knew something. So yes it is I guess neuropathy but Clev doc says it is not demlnating ,I spelled it wrong. He went from steroids and imuran , then sepsis, then ivig, then plasma phersis. I just have to wait and see what the rest of the tests say. They are checking the biopsy slide that was done in Jan . I am afraid of some kind of malignancy. Hope not.

Sounds to me that you have been quite busy as well. I know how hard it is to wait as we waited about 2 1/2 months to get into Cleveland Clinic and now he is not scheduleing new patients until April So try and be patient and in the meantime they can do other tests. After lumbar puncture they usually do biopsy of ankle but you might be different since it involves thyroid.
I will hope that things keep going forward. It is up and downs isn’t it.

What wonderful pictures. I do not know how to do the pictures. Maybe some day I will learn, but then again I am the caretaker. Would be nice for a picture of both of us.
Anyway I love grandchildren and fortunately for me I am not the one sick however they are in Ohio and we are in Tennessee.\\
We have 5 of them. Our son has 2 boys-ages 2 and 5. Our daughter has one boy llyears old and 2 girls, one 7 and one 8. The last ones to visit was our son and daughter-in-law and the 2 year old kept saying “I’m in Tennessee.”He was so proud of himself saying Tennessee. He is so cute. Every one of them are special and although I no longer live close to them when they come it is just wonderful
Well off to Cleveland Clinic tomorrow for that long waited 2nd opinion.
Will check back when we get back home.
Love those grandbabies

I use my grabber thingy often. I can usually lean down and pick some things up but when they get under a table I need the grabber. I also use the Sock-ease device to put my socks on. I have a riser on the toilet. Have to be a contortionist to wipe yourself while on that. Causes me to scrunch my ribs and hip bone together making my side sore. Rehab was an absolute disaster for me. The therapists I got didn’t know what to do with me. Resulted in a fractured leg. After that they got me AFO’s which I still wear. Knees don’t hold without them. I was taken to the hospital one night by ambulance. While there of course my nerves got my bladder going. Too shaky to use the walker I asked for a bed pan. They must have went to the store to get one! I thought I’d never hold out. Couldn’t believe a hospital wouldn’t have one available near the ER. I swore I’d take one with me the next time. Ever since I’ve been looking for some other way to handle this problem.
Visiting Nurses got me am easy chair that raises me up so I can get back out of it. I try to keep a happy attitude and I love humor. Not that I don’t have some pretty awful days if I dare to think about the things I can no longer do. Guess really I feel lucky to have made it to over 68 years. Some don’t even get a start. Que sera sera.

Thank-you Lee, Norb and Jaydee! Yes it does make a difference when you meet a person in here. I have seen alot of the photo’s where Ken has the Photo Share. So many nice people! Yes! Those grandbabies of mine have been a joy having. They grow to fast to quick and too soon. My son the oldest and my baby daughter still have not had children yet, so I know there will be more in the future. Can’t wait to see that happen too! Just can’t believe that my children are all grown now! Makes me feel old here! But at least I get to see part of them living their own lives and how well they did for themselves.
I worry about one child more than the rest. My son! He works on a nuclear submarine and everytime something goes on unstable in our world he gets shipped out. He was on shore duty for a while and was stationed in San Diego. Then had a leave for a few weeks and then got called out to Sea again.
Worst part! We never get to know where he is located. So when he leaves for the sea, I don’t get to hear from him a good 6 months. I’m proud of my children. They all did well for themselves. But you still worry about them! Thank-you for the compliments!

By the way the Disaboom site has a list of illnesses and Guillain Barre is not on it. I’m not real good at navigating websites so I have a little trouble finding things so far on there. My short term memory problems don’t help.
The P-Mate product has a short video clip and also a diagram showing what it looks like and instructions on use. Also a section on testimonials.

My DR. prescribed the Zostrix for me 12 or 15 years ago. It was 10 for a small tube then. The pharmastics told me about the Capzasin-HP, a generic Zostrix-HP, for about half the price of the Zostrix. I use about 1 tube a week here and get it at Wal-Mart. I think it is about 10 dollars for a small tube of it now. I have used both of these and can’t tell the difference between the two. It will set you on fire though when you get out in the sun with it on you. Well, the hot shower will do about the same as the sun. Well, gettin late folks and the ole Drummer had better start looking at the bed. Good Night …………………….
