I also premed with Tylenol and Benadryl.
I also try and drink 8 glasses of water the day before my infusion. My worst side effects are tiredness and sometimes (5%) I get a fever afterwords.
I take back what I said above. I had a doctors appointment yesterday and my doctor actually brought up the shortage to me.
Well I can relate Gem. When I was first diagnosed I had to wait almost 4 weeks until the insurance company gave the go ahead. Everyday getting a little bit worse and I was getting more and more frustrated.
I am sure there are many people on this board who understand what your going through. You have to keep the faith that everything will work out.
Good luck to you and take care.
No I haven’t heard anything about it (GBS/CIDP). I think the only time I hear about it is if someone famous gets it like the center for the Dallas cowboys.
Sorry, but I have never even heard about Vitamin B, Myers Cocktail.
Pat,
Well for me it takes three days after my last treatment date to start feeling better. The numbness in my hands and foot are always the last to recover and that takes about a week. Hope the feeling comes back soon for you.

Myraann,
I also live in Illinois. My doctor is in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. He was able to diagnose me in a few days, if your interested in his information let me know I’ll pass it on to you.aamcw,
When I knew something was wrong with me I got on the phone that day and started calling every neurologist in
my health care network until I found one with an appointment open that day. I got lucky as the neurologist I have is a fantastic one. Please don’t wait on this.Let us know what happens today with the Neurology clinic.
So how long did/does it take you to feel better after a treatment?
I do a two day treatment on Tuesday and Wednesday (every six weeks). I can start feeling the results as early as Friday or as late as Sunday, but its usually on Saturday. The first thing to come back is my strength and walking up stairs/getting up from chairs etc. The numbness in my fingers and left foot are always the last to come back and the first to show signs of it coming back.
Here is the order for myself:
1) Numbness in the fingertips (both hands but right hand worse) and then numbness in my left foot (right foot has zero problems).
2) Problems walking up stairs and getting up from chair, bed etc
3) Loss of strength in my hands (again right hand much worse than left)
Yeah it is very expensive! My cost for 2 days of ivig treatment is $60,000. I get the treatment every 6 weeks so $540,000 for the year. Thank God for insurance! So I always end up paying the out of pocket maximum.
