    Judy –

I forgot to mention the gammaplex IVIG made me worse. Wish I had never taken it.

It looks like kratom is illegal in WI, sorry. I’m managing with low doses of lyrica. I developed a tolerance to the kratom. There is actually a store up the street that sells kratom here in la mesa, Ca. Even though in nearby san diego it is illegal. Eight months into my illness I just started walking without a walker for a little bit. I’m hoping I have GBS instead of CIDP. I did get the disease right after a very nasty flu. Supposedly CIDP does not happen that way. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Im 64 years old. If I had to pick an age to get this disease, 64 is a good one.
Retired, couch potato, reclusive etc. I think positive mental attitude is our only defense. I still get major depressed.

All I can say is wow! Yeah you could not pay me to take IVIG again. I’m concerned about my kidneys also. Have had uncontrolled diabetes for 20 years too. It’s under control now since I lost 50 lb.s due to GBS. I am in my 8 month of recovery and about 75% “fixed”. Just started a little walking without support. I can’t stand the stories here about people being diagnosed in the 1st month, treated with IVIG and walking again. This forum can be a real downer. I live in san diego so I use pot regularly to deal with the mental health issues otherwise I would have blown my brains out months ago.

Have had gbs for past 7 months. I got off of oxycodone via Kratom and lyrica. Kratom was a god send for my pain. I take 150 mil. of lyrica daily and 6 to 8 grams of kratom when needed. Shop around for the best kratom source. The pain was the worse part of this disease. Good luck.

Try the cannabis strain “Platinum Daddy”. I was at my wits end in nerve pain and saw it advertised as helping with neuropathy. A vendor a few miles away carried it (california) and it absolutely worked. It’s the strongest pot I have ever smoked, and will basically knock you out if not carefull.

Im a 7 month GBS patient slowly recovering.

Thanks, I feel better just getting some of that anger off my chest.
