Keep in mind that even though a doctor works at a Center of Excellence,  it doesn’t mean they know CIDP better than anther neurologist. There is a Facebook page (NOT affiliated with GBS-CIDP Foundation) full of people with CIDP or have a family member.  There was another person that asked about a doctor n the Denver area, about a year or so ago.  I do hope you’ll reach out to people there along with the people in this forum. The FB CIDP page (there are different ones) has an icon that is a sea turtle swimming underwater in blue water. It is a very active page.

Hi! I was sent to Anschutz medical center in Aurora. There are several neurologists that know about CIDP. After seeing about 4 of them, I chose one. He is now working at St Anthony hospital in Lakewood. Name is Dr Zachary Wilson, 720-321-8111. I’ve been with him since 2017 or 2018. Other people in the Denver area really like Dr Go (I’ve never seen him). Dr Wilson and Dr Go are the top regarding CIDP from what I’ve experienced or read about.

I’ve often believed implants was one of the reasons for my CIDP. I’m sure other women had this done but not as often as I went in 2016. I had gone repeatedly to have fillers in my face for a once in a lifetime reunion. After many trips to the doctor, I questioned myself about the safety.
About 2 months later I got a flu shot and a tetanus shot at one time. A month later was my trip.

IMMENSE stress for many years of being caretaker for my mother had me in poor mental health.
During the flight home from the trip, i had the worst cold that lasted 2 weeks. Then a UTI. My legs were weak but I thought it was from being in bed for 2 weeks with the cold.

When I think back to my trip, I remembered the day I hiked Diamond Head with difficulty. It shouldn’t have been such a big struggle because I live in Colorado and hike.

I believe the stresses from my mother and frequency of fillers started a little something. Then the bad cold w/fever and UTI did me in.

In short, yes, I believe implants or surgery can cause it. (I had been getting fillers and botox once a year prior to this with no problem).

Ausvoltz, how are your shoulders, shoulder blades, back, and ribs?
It’s been worse for a week now. The rib pain..I don’t want to move an inch because of the pain. I think of you when I get debilitating rib, shoulder blade, and back pains, wondering if you found relief?

I’m grateful for the open communication.
My neck pain is constant and hurts to check blind spots when driving. Flexeril doesn’t touch it.
The shoulder blade pain…omg the intense pain. It’s not the electrical shock pain. Doesnt feel like nerve pain. I dont know what it is.
Same as with the ribs…not electrical shocks. It isnt constant but when it’s there, it’s like being hit with a baseball bat.
So far I havent found relief. Gabapentin made me sick as well as not easing any pain. Lyrica doesnt help either.
Lower back ache and sometimes extends the length of the spine.
I thought I was alone, and since neuromuscular specialists probably dont read forums, my neuro and primary care dont believe it’s all CIDP related. Now I can show them that it’s not just me.

Hi Armando, how is everything now? Are you getting financial assistance? Have you found a knowledgeable neurologist? VERY difficult to find one in Colorado Springs. I hope to hear an update on you. My heart goes out to you.
