I do have 8 pics of the regular ultrasound and 3 of the 3D. It is amazing what technology can do!!

I agree with the thoughts of DMV workers. I was fined for not getting the sticker on my vehicle renewed. They had been sending it to my previous address and it was only when i noticed it was expired that I went in to renew it. She informed me that the computer that I changed my driver’s license address on was NOT connected to the computer 4 feet away with the info on sticker renewal. I have a hard time believing that considering the age of technology we are in!!!! And c’mon…how hard is it to work at the DMV?? From the looks of their rumps, it cannot be an overly physical demanding job. Plus they get all the gov. job perks and Mondays off.

Anytime you need me to go Imperial on them, let me know! I’m glad your son was with you, Donna. My children being present is what kept my language civil although my oldest daughter said loud enough for everyone to hear, “Do they know how to do their job, Mommy?”. (I replied just as loud, “NO, honey, they don’t”) God Bless 5 year olds!

And Larry, you are right. SS and all benefits will be spent up in no time.

MED FREE?? Good for you! I on the other hand took it for awhile and decided to let the nice meds relieve the pain for me.

And yes, the AFOS are in there which is why it was so darn hard to pose. The guy who did them is a master at costuming and has a huge heart.

that is inspiring to here, Liz!! Keep truckin’ !!!

the jerk who did my spinal tap lied to me and said my insurance company would not approve a blood patch following the spinal tap. I kept insisting and instead was sent home with vicadin which made me throw up and then torodol which again did nothign for the pain.
I ended up being rushed to the ER 3 days later with a headache and pain that landed me in the hospital for another 2 days. On the 2nd day, I was finally given the blood patch and the pain stopped almost immediately.

    ABout spinal taps…

I always premedicate with 50 mg of Benedryl and a Tylenol. I’ve had some variations in my side-effects and tried to keep a journal to pinpoint what worked. The Exedrin migraine helps as does coke as I don’t normally drink caffeine. Although the caffeine gives me a ‘speed’ like effect, it is better than the headaches. I also found drinking plenty of water or eating popsicles helped as did not bending over.
I used to also get solumedrol (spelling) in my iv prior to the ivig but being pregnant, they have cut it out. I haven’t noticed a difference without it.

From the prez down to my local city, I am sick of politicians. IL was finally able to convict our ex-gov and our current gov is handing out free health care. It’s great that the kids in IL are getting health care but it is affecting seniors who cannot get health care becaue their previous bills have not been paid due to the current plan. It saddens me to see someone who paid into the system their whole life being turned away because the gov is TRYING to look humane.

The medicare is scaring me. I turned it down due to already paying up the wazoo for my health insurance thru my husband’s work. I recently received a letter saying that I could be penalized for this making my fee larger when I finally join. If that is not for another 20 years, I can’t even imagine what I will be charged:confused: I had a lawyer friend who works with a lot of SS cases and medicare and the like and even he found it all confusing. What does that say for the common person?

Auntie M, you may be a witch, but you are a lovely one!!:)

You guys/gals have me laughing so hard and my bladder is already not what is used to be from this lil guy!!!!!

I will post pics once he arrives. I had one of those cool 3D ultrasounds and although it was a little creepy, it was still unbelievable to see my child’s face and hands so clearly.

Expected due date is Oct. 5th. Already at 5 months I wonder how I am going to handle another 4 plus the weight gain. It is throwing off my drunken gait already!!

    Awesome, Liz!!
ARe you still off treatments? I know before the boards went down, the doc thought you were in remission and you were doing the physical therapy. How is all that going?

    May 30, 2006 at 12:41 am

Never should a child have to sit for IV treatments…i hate it enough and I’m old enough to deal with it. I’m thrilled to hear she is running around and getting a normal childhood (hopefully without too many bumps and bruises!) And I am glad that you have a children’s hospital nearby. One thing I have learned abuot the medical field, if you are unhappy with your docs decisions, there are so many others to choose from. I hope you find your answers and more importantly a doc who has a plan for the whole family.
You are in my prayers and I hope Emily has a fantastic summer! Stay cool as this heatwave in the midwest is unbelievable.
    Peace,
    Mary

So glad you found us!! I know it truly was a godsend to find this support group. I coudl never understand support groups thinking that if my family can’t help me, how could strangers. Then I realized that the people in here not only know what I went thru but what I am currently going thru.
I do IVIG and have to live on Excedrin migraine for the headaches for about 5 days plus live with the flu-like symptoms as well for a few days.
Since the Exedrin keeps me wide awake, I get a chance to catch up on the forums:) I’ve found something positive in all this and the biggest has been this group on a whole.
I have 3 ‘aunts’ – Auntie M, Aunt Brandy, and Aunt Liz who always offer such great advice. I enjoy Lee and Marc with their words of wisdom. Jerimy is so darn happy all the time how can you not smile. Allaug, hauts and some of the others I met just before the old site went down were added to the list. It truly is a wonderful place in here!

    May 30, 2006 at 12:29 am

LOL, yes the group in here has always kept me laughing and in good spirits.

For those guessing weights, please go easy on me!! My last 2 were just under 7 lbs and I thought they would tip me over when I tried to walk.

We also need names. Keep in mind I am a Walton so common names don’t work.
It’s like being named Jennifer or John Smith.

Jerimy, sorry I missed you in MI last weekend. WE couldn’t make it up there for the convention. We took our 10 yr. anniversary to the happiest place on Earth instead. And let me tell you, Disney World was very accomodating for being in a wheelchair. RAmps and friendly people to open doors. The girls absolutely loved it!!

    2 days in labor????

WOW!! I have been fortunate with my labors. Both of them I had the epidural and felt little to no pain. My first was born within 14 hours and my last was only @ 8 hours. Plus, the hospital allowed me a few suckers, juice, and ice so at least I wasn’t completely starved. Although after both deliveries, I ate for at least 3 people, LOL!

I’ll have to post my photobucket pics which show the family in our costumes. I even recently had my sister join.
I am lucky to have great friends everwhere especially in my costuming group. One inserted pre-fab AFOs into my boots so I could walk. All it took was him hearing why I coudln’t costume ( I began the costume before the CIDP took over my feet) and he emailed me instantly offering his services.
Needless to say, I am not wearing the costume lately! Although I am working on the ‘goodmommy’ costume of Padme when she is pregnant with Luke and Leia. It is more ‘fitting’ ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks, Ali…it is good to see the familar blue board up and helping others again. I enjoy reading the posts and have sat up many nights after a treatment (the Excedrin running thru me) in here.

    Pam,
My due date is Oct. 5th but I have never made it through a pregnancy all 40 weeks. I usually am induced around 38/39 due to me being unable to function from the weight:)
For my screen name, my family and I enjoy costuming and my Star Wars character is on the Imperial side (the bad guys). The first time my daughter saw me, she called me “the bad mommy with the long fingers”. The name stuck in our costuming group and I found it is easier to use one screen name for everything than several different. the last thing I need is multiple identities, LOL!

Here is me at the Hunger Walk last year at Lake Michigan…(my friend changed the sky color)
