Hi everyone I am starting to loose my voice, I have been on Predisone 60mg for 7 days and my numbness in my legs is spreading and my voice is getting gravely. can Prednisone do this or maybe this is fatigue from thanksgiving. I know I over did it getting ready for the family and paid the price on Black Friday, couldn’t go for the rip off bargains.

Harry, I was on a high dose of Prednisone for about 18 months. I did experience a number of side affects, but none that you mention. I have not heard about anyone’s speech being affected by taking corticosteroids. Maybe you have a cold coming on that is starting to affect your throat?

Numbness and tingling are very rare side affects of Prednisone. If you suspect this is Prednisone related, you should see your doctor right away.

I think must of us probably over did it during Thanksgiving and need a little extra rest to help us get back to normal. Here’s hoping that is your case.

When I went into the local to Port Angeles Nursing/Rehab facility last May, I caught a cold there after the first week. I experienced that voice problem. It cleared after about 2 weeks when the cold went away.

For me, CIDP has affected a number of different muscle groups, including my throat. It comes and goes, but my voice has changed and I get cramps in my throat, neck, back, hands, and legs. One of the first questions I was asked, by my consulting neuro, was has my voice changed.
