Hi Norb! I have been wondering what was going on! Wow have you had a rough spell there. Just can’t have a decent normal move can we! I feel for you friend! Really do! I hope things get better for you soon!
Gosh! Your sister in law is going through that with a mean abusive husband! The way murders are today with domestic violence. If she was smart she would file charges against him for next time she might not be so lucky!
My first marriage was like that. I finally had to pack my bags and leave the state only letting my parents and sister know where I was at. He passed away at 35 years old and when he did, I had my freedom back but always had a fear of him coming after me when he was alive. His rude mother tried her best for me to not get his Social Security Benefits for my children from him! The man owed over 20 grand in back child support and I never got a dime from him while raising my children alone and with Andy after we married. But she lost the battle!
You have my prayers Norb and I hope things get better soon! Hugs

Hi Norb! Thanks for the German Drink Recipe! That sounds awesome! I was born in Germany. But we came back to the US when I was a baby and I never got to see my birthplace. Did see France, Spain and Italy but I have always wanted to see my birthplace. Then I got sick. So I started collecting German things because of my heritage. My mother is full blooded German but married my father in the US. She was already living here before I was born. My grandparents came from Germany many many moons ago. But I waas never taught German. I know a tiny bit but not much! Just what I have picked up every now and then. But she speaks English more than she does German. She would talk to my grandmother in German when she didn’t want us to know what she was saying! LOL! And we never really knew what she was saying. I remember some things but not much!
Going to try that drink out for the blueberry juice sounds great. I have blackberry in my freezer and might even try that made into a juice! Thank-you! Hugs to you and Carol!

Hi Norb! Glad to see you are back home and enjoying that peace and quiet! As the old saying goes! There’s no place like home! I agree on that one! January 20th my mom is having knee replacement surgery. I sure hope she does okay. I plan on going to her house and staying with her a while and no telling how long that will be. I hope she recovers quickly. For her home is not my home and I pray to be home really fast! LOL! So I too will experience the missing bed and pillow. My cats and my overall house! My food! LOL! And certainly my TV. She owns her TV and remote control and will not give it up to nobody and when a good movie comes on that I want to watch she starts talking!
I can handle being around my mom a day or so. And have gone as far as a year staying with her to help her out. But that year I stayed turned me into a bad chain smoker! Had to stop that habit! ๐Ÿ˜€ I rode on my father’s golf cart down to the river several times a day and there is one tree there that has my head print still in the tree! ROFL! A couple of feet prints too! Poor tree got beat on several times. It was my frustration tree! Have not seen that tree in a while but might be seeing it this month very soon!
It’s times like this when you get to come home and really appreciate what you have! I sure hope my laptop computer works over at her house. That will help alot me chatting while I am staying with her during her recovery! I am praying the doctors send her to rehab first! But he is saying 4 days in the hospital. I am saying 6 days! And then rehab! I know my mom alot better than he knows her! Thank-you Norb for the nice gift you sent me. I will cherish it forever!
Glad to see you back home! Hugs

Hi Norb! Sure hope you don’t get sick on us now! I need you in here! Will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers and hope all get well soon. I too have a SIL just like yours and when we see them at Christmas it drives me nuts!
Wishing you a very nice New Years to come! Congratulations on your daughter’s new job. But you are like me. When your children live far away they get very well missed. And I worry about them. Although I know they can take care of themselves, it’s still where you worry.
Hope your MIL feels better soon. That does not sound too good her being sick like that.
Hugs my friend! Stay well and don’t hug your MIL until she gets well! We don’t need Norb getting sick! I loved your Christmas Santa! So neat! LOL!

Hi Norb! I have been seeing IVIG’s so much on this forum and was not even thinking what I typed until you mentioned it! I meant to say Infusion! When I get a headache I can’t concentrate.
Norb! I was so nervous about getting this treatment done yesterday that I forgot to even ask what amount they had given me. But they gave me an IV in my vein and there were two bags on the IV pole. One probably was the saline and the other one was the chemo drug Rituximab. She started the one bag first and then turned on the other bag. But both were running in the same line at the same time. One bag felt cold to my veins and when she started that other bag, it burned like fire. That had to be the Chemo because of the sting.
They told me that I could take my medications before coming in and the nurse asked me what I took that morning. I had Prednisone and Ibuprophen and that is probably why they did not give me anything, because I had taken my meds almost two hours before getting there and they were anti inflammatory medications. The nurse at the office told me I could take them but could not take a few of my medications until after my treatment. But I was allowed the Ibuprophen and Prednisone. She did put something in the IV with a needle but I have no idea what that was either. Being my first time, I was just so nervous and was trying to keep conversation about the weather just to get my mind off of getting this treatment done. Instead I should have asked. I did not know what to expect yesterday and the nurse seemed to know what she was doing and explained a few things to me but with me being so nervous I was trying to focus my mind on other things. ๐Ÿ˜€
But boy did it effect me! I still have a headache. Already lost my dinner tonight. Upset stomach now! I have been popping tylenol 3 with codiene all day today and the benedryl and still have the headache. Man! Thank God I don’t have to have this every week.
I go back in 4 weeks to have my next treatment and believe me I plan on asking about everything now! All day today I have been popping out in sweats and one minute I feel half way decent to suddenly get icky feeling.
Getting ready for bed now and hope I can sleep okay.
They did tell me my next treatment will not be as bad and that usually the first one is the worst. I got there at the hospital at 8 in the morning and they started everything at 8:30. I did not get home yesterday until 5 in the afternoon. Was there almost 9 hours. They had me in a room with a recliner and then after I got sick and started getting the migraine they then transported me into the day hospital with me on a stretcher. I told that nurse that when I get migraines I get sick. I guess she figured with me being on prednisone and the ibuprophen that would be enough. NOT! Not with me! I start getting headaches I normally can feel them coming and if I don’t start something strong right away. I get sick! And that is what I did!
Next time they will know better because they have my chart there and what happened. Think they will be more careful with me next month. But this stuff to start with is nasty!
I feel like I have the flu! But it’s not the flu! Just makes you feel like you have it! They did have that IV running slow. But when she first started it that IV was running at a fast pace. Then she turned it down some. That might be what happened. Went to fast to begin with making me sick.
I feel for you if you have to take this every week. Certainly is not a fun picnic. Next week I have to go and get a liver profile done. My doctor wants labs done every two weeks. And they gave me card to carry around on me also. An emergency card stating that I am currently on Rituxan! What is the difference between Rituxan and Rituximab?
The doctor told me Rituximab but yet on the card it reads Rituxan!
I will have to email you later on tomorrow. I can’t even look at this screen tonight without having my eyes feel like they are dizzy! Gosh Norb! I really feel for you having to have this done every week.
How do you keep your sense of humor? LOL! Didn’t burn my dinner today but was staggering in the kitchen all day!
I will chat with you tomorrow when I feel better. I hope this headache is gone tomorrow. Hugs

Hi Norb! Got my first treatment yesterday but will be having mine a different way. I will be getting Rituximab every 4 weeks and not weekly. Different diseases we have is the reason.
Didn’t do as well as I thought I would. Had to stay there almost 8 hours yesterday. It burned going in but eventually stopped burning. Then I got an instant headache. Me and headaches don’t work to well and I started barfing. They ended up having to give me morphine and phenergan to stop the headache and barfing. Then I started getting itchy. Still itching this morning.
Andy had to get my RX’s filled for Reglan, Tylenol with Codiene and Benedryl. Last night after a few hours home I started barfing again. Woke up this morning and still have a headache but took the tylenol with codiene again before that headache would start. Also makes me feel dizzy. They told me the second time I won’tt be as bad! I sure hope so! That Chemo is scary stuff!
Now I’m scared to take the second dose!

Hi Norb! Wow are you lucky seeing Obama in person. He’s been in my state several times but not once has he comes to my town! So I have not had the chance to see him in person. I think he’s going to be a better President than McCain and Palin!
Nice photo of you Norb, but hate having to see you at that center! Hope things go well for you! Hugs

Glad to see you are feeling better! That Rituxan by having a few friends with Lupus taking it has some side effects that will make ya feel nasty but seems to do good prognosis wise. Hope you feel better more and more each day!
I could picture you sliding and loosing your pants! LOL! Hugs

Hi Norb! Oh they are so cute! You have beautiful grandchildren. And your wife is very talented. Awesome pumpkins too. I did not grow any but might next year. That huge collard plant I had in my garden.. first harvest! Got four quarts frozen in the freezer today off that one plant. And I planted 9 plants with 6 coming up and growing. Hmm! If the others do as well as that huge one, I might get 24 quarts of collards. Tomorrow, I am picking spinach and freezing that!

Hi Norb! I just went into the site this morning and actually there is an area where you can adjust the pixel size to be smaller for posting on websites! The Photobucket.com actually seems to be a bit more easier and is more detailed than Flicker. Let’s just say I think Photobucket.com is for those that are not that good at posting photo’s. LOL! Everytime I look at Pumpkin… I started balling out in laughter! ๐Ÿ˜€ Hey! I got the photo in here! Just scary opening up a screen and seeing this big cat face looking directly at you! LOL

I have been on the pulse steroids a few times for my Lupus but not for the CIDP. It did wonders for me but it’s was a high dose. 1000mgs. It will make you feel nervous some at first and shaky feeling. I sailed up in the bed and got instant relief. Will make you hungry too! But coming down off the drug may give you some weakness and make you feel tired but that goes away. Hope this helped some. Never had it for CIDP but am pretty sure it would help!
