Hmmm … cold front supposed to be headed through tonight. 80 degrees F here today. Although the beach sounds good, I think I’m going to have a hot buttered rum and sit by the fire.
That’s an interesting painting on the wall there … I wonder if there’s a story that goes with it?
False … my great grandmother was Cherokee and lived in Okmulgee, but she didn’t pass that one on to me. I did take a bite of an unripened persimmon once. I don’t remember being able to predict the weather, but it would have taken a lightning bolt to unpucker my lips.
My grandfather rubbed the mud from a smooth stone and the morning dew on one of my warts and it went away.
TNP is part American Indian (bonus points if you name the tribe)
Jim! Differential equations ?!? Really? (Shudder). I’m an electrical engineer and haven’t seen one of those since college (much thanks and praise …)
Give me a speeling wurd any day … just so longs as I dasn’t has too intergrate it.
heh heh heh

Donna, I’m 54 and I too have CIDP and I’m with both you and Norb. This SUCKS! But I have a loving family and a loving God, great friends (well met Donna), and I’ll keep working hard as long as I’m able.
My outcome has been good physically. Although I’m tired and fatigued often; the PE and the burning/numbness/pain returns too often; I’m walking running, can cut my fingernails again … I’m blessed.
You are so right we need each other. Thanks for encouraging Norb.
Gary
Carol,
It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from you … How are you and Norb?
Gary
Jim, you’ll probably never know how many people you minister to through your photos, but I want to say thank you; you and your photos are a blessing. A good friend passed away yesterday and I needed to smile this morning. 😀

Too early for anything but hot chocolate. I’ll start heating some up.
Hmmm, I wonder if there’s any left over pizza to go with my hot chocolate for breakfast???
DonMo60,
As you’ve no doubt learned from the forum discussions, CIDP is not a “one size fits all” disorder. My experience with Cellcept did not go well. I did experience nausea, hair loss, and my CIDP symptoms worsened.
I hope your experience goes well, but just be sure to listen to your body.
Gary
Lralsten,
PE protocols do vary with neurologists and blood centers.
I initially had 5 PEs in 5 days. I experienced improvement within days afterwards and my improvement was dramatic in the next few weeks. I am now on 2 PEs every 6 weeks. I have the PEs on back to back Fridays. (The blood center doctor concurs with my neurologist that this protocol makes the most sense physiologically. PE filters the blood. Any filtering process removes only a percentage of the contaminants for each filtering, and especially so for antibodies in the body. The antibodies in the tissues take time to move through the system.)
I was not hospitalized during the initial PEs. It was done as out patient at the Methodist Hospital Blood Center in Houston, Texas.
I hope you mother’s experience goes as well as mine.
Keep us informed of her progress and please continue to bring your questions to the folks here … there’s a wealth of experience, knowledge, wisdom and caring to be gained from our friends here.

Thanks for the well wishes Lee, but there’s no doubt I have CIDP.
I was positively diagnosed with CIDP from EMG and lumbar puncture July 2008. I just continue to post updates on my CIDP journey in my original thread for posterity’s sake.
(And reading the entire thread from time to time is sobering and reminds me of my feelings along the journey).
And J. Thank you for the suggestion of getting my records. That’s a great idea. I will request them. Gary

False we’re having good ole traditional turkey bird.
TNP has something “special” to be thankful for this year.
My answers are “no” for all questions 1-8.
The cause of my CIDP was that I caught a virus that lingered.
Gary
Alma and Jim!!! Soooooo glad to see you both. I’ve missed you.
I sure miss our old friends. We used to have the most interesting races down in the tunnels.
I’m not much of one for facebook, but I’m going to try to reconnect with our buds and see if they’d like to step outta the cold and into the Tavern again …
Hope the hot buttered rum is not too hot for y’all.
Wow, I never thought I’d see the day that I’d have to blow the dust off of the bar and clean out the cobwebs from the Tavern!!!
Where’s the Barkeep?
Is there anyone in here … here … here? Echo … echo … echo.
I’m going to get a log going in the fireplace and turn on the neon sign lights and see if the smoke coming from the brings anyone else in.
I think I’ll heat up the cider and see if anyone will join me for for some hot spiced rum.
