Stem Cell Injections

Does anyone have any experience with this? I’m likely to give this a try maybe next year as my condition is in check but it would be nice to get off medication forever. This is not the type of stem cell treatment advertised in the USA involving a bone marrow transplant. Panama and about $25K I think. Well worth it if you can put this disease behind you.

Stem Cell Therapy (AKA HSCT) is a controversial technique. I have spoken to some who had great results, more with less effective results. Dr Burt’s clinical trial was started in 2005 and appears to be on hold? Dr Georges clinical trial is still underway and has no results posted yet.
Personally, I would want to see a clinical trial on the Panama technique before getting it.

I see this is from 2022. Did you receive the treatment. Was it msc or hsct? I have received msc injections (no chemotherapy to destroy the immune system) in the US last year. This used my own stem cells with meaningful, but not remarkable success. About seven months later, I received two injections of the new cidp drug vyvgart. Within 36 hours of each shot my peripheral nerves were hammered. I took the second injection hoping the response was coincidental, but the second round left me even worse. My doctor and I agreed to stop at that point. I’m sure vyvgart helps many people, but it was a disaster for me. I recovered to a great extent and was better than I had been before the stem cell injections, but lost some of those gains. Based on the positive results with my own stem cells, I went to Mexico in February for msc injections using umbilical cord stem cells and exosomes. Four months in, I have experienced substantial improvements. My foot drop is recovered to the level that I am beginning to run without my afo. I get a little bit better everyday. This treatment is already more productive than my total improvement from the US based treatment. Msc injections are the only treatment that has helped me so far. I’ll update this as I continue to progress. I wish I had received a suggestion to go to Mexico for treatment when I was diagnosed 16 years ago.

I would be grateful if you could keep your progress updated on here. My spouse is not getting positive results thus far with his IVIG treatments and are interested in alternative options. Thank you

This is an interesting topic. Stem cell treatments seem to hold a lot of promise, but it’s important to balance optimism with careful evaluation of the available evidence fnaf. I appreciate everyone here sharing their experiences and insights.
