My doctor is advising me to get the Shingles Vaccine as I am over 70 (73) and should have it.

Has anybody heard whether or not a pre-GBS’er should or shouldn’t have the Shingles Vaccine? I contracted GBS back in 1999 – my right side is still affected and is weaker than the left.

Any info on this vaccine would be appreciated.

Funny that you asked this question. I have been researching this
cuz I don’t want to get shingles!!!!! IF you did not get GBS from
a vaccine and you are not on cortisone, and don’t have a comprimised
immune system…. there is NO evidence of GBS after the vaccination.

I am going to get it.

      Good luck with deciding.

      Happy Sunday….

Here is a link to the Contraindications and Precautions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

Guide to Vaccine Contraindications and Precautions

Prior GBS is not a contraindication for Zoster vaccine, although immune suppressants are.
