      Hi
I am a long time GBS-CIDP and my history can be found here. Someone has found it and has written me with his ailments (same as mine even # of occurrences) His approach is low key and he promises he has a wonderful health care Product. SALES? He also has my address. I am cautious about this and if any one else has been approached by a man in Pennslyvania. I’m not including his name as he might be honest. Respond to my post and we will figure a away to fret this out. I know Paranoia exits for CIDPers over 70. Be well

I think you are absolutely right to be suspicious of someone who has approached you in this way. There are certainly a lot of scammers around and some of them prey on the elderly and the unwell.

Bill, You are wise not to pursue unverified claims from a total stranger. I looked at your old posts from 2006 and none include any full name or contact info, so I don’t think he got that info from this site. Did you ask him where he got your info?

Scammers have really been hitting us “aged” people lately, the medical alert device scam is on the rise right now, as are various get rich quick and “you won money” schemes that prey on the elderly.

I would run a Google search on his name and phone number. If he has been scamming people it may show. If he works for a company, Google the company for complaints too.

The best phone number search is here: http://800notes.com

Free (to some extent) background check sites include:

      http://wink.com
      http://www.peekyou.com

Let us know what you learn and if he turns out to be on the up and up.
