Mastocytosis ????????????

[B][SIZE=”3″][/SIZE][/B]Has anyone in this forum ever heard of Mastocytosis being a Autoimune disease inherited by Children or Grandchildren of Parent/Grandparent who had Guillain Barre Syndrome in there past??? My Son and grandaughter and Grandson have this disease and the Doctor believes its inherited from me because of my Past Autoimune GBS.

I have no knowledge about this disease. Having said that, I would first ask the doc for his references so that you can do your own research. He’ll either willing produce it or will “back track” rather quickly. Just maybe he has read an obscure reference somewhere. Hey, the docs aren’t immune to all the “stuff” that can be read on the internet. Good luck in finding the answer.

If I understand you correctly, the doctor is saying that Mastocytosis in a child is (or could be) directly related to the parents or grandparents having had GBS….., …………….. or was he referring to the fact that the GBS is autoimmune and therefore they (the children) have more of a chance of getting an autoimmune illness like Mastocytosis?

Yes Ali EXACTLY Both of them but more of the latter–If anyone of you out there have kids with something wrong the docs can’t find an answer for look at this RARE condition or other Auto Immune diseases
