      My son is planning on donating blood as part of his community service requirement for school. It is okay for HIM to do so right? I know I am not supposed to, and I have read that kids of a GBS parent shouldnt get flu shots (as if mine will!), but wasnt sure about kids giving blood. I have a feeling it should be fine, but wanted to ask the experts here.

      He should be able to give blood. His blood status should have nothing to with your GBS status.

      Its fine for him to donate. Its actually ok for gbs people to donate blood cells-not plasma. What a nice community service your son is doing. Take care.
