GBS caused by H1N1 of the 1970's ?

      Hello everyone!
      I have been researching my symptoms lately and just came across info in reguard to GBS. I read, that GBS was known to be caused (in some cases) from the flue shot in 1976. I actually had a Very rare and DEADLY stain of that flue (the Russion flue) that nearly killed me as a child. Was wondering, if anyone has ever heard of that actual flue of 1976 causing GBS , it would explain alot if that is the case.

      Although still a controversial topic, many members have reported getting GBS/CIDP following a flu shot. It seems the Federal Govt believes this too because they have established a fund to compensate victims.       I don’t know if the knowledge base here goes back as far as 1976. If it does, you should be able to find info in one of the many threads here: http://www.gbs-cidp.org/forum/vaccine-reactions Try searching for the info by keyword (H1N1, Flu Shot, etc) and maybe you will find what you are looking for.

      There was a correlation between the swine flu vaccine of 1976 and an increased incidence of GBS for some batches of the vaccine. This may have been due to contamination, although the cause is not known. There is a link to an article on the subject in thw vaccine forum.
