GBS blip or relapse

Hi I was diagnosed with GBS November 2025, my recovery has been slow and hard, but as expected (from what I’ve read). Until 3 weeks ago when I started to feel more fatigue and generally unwell, then some tingling returned which worried me. So ended up back in hospital as this was how my GBS started. Luckily there is no weakness in my limbs and things didn’t progress or get worse. The only thing I can think that changed was a change in my HRT meds. I haven’t had any answers from the hospital visit, but I’m due to see a neurologist on Wednesday. I am now still feeling fatigued and getting palpitations (especially after food)! Does anyone recognize this as a blip in their recovery and classed as normal (if there is such a thing in GBS)?

Hi there
When I got sick 20yrs ago, I was still a little ways from HRT. I happen to have asked one of the top gbs/als focused neurologists about this very subject, because I noticed an increase in gbs related issues around the same time each month. He said that our hormone fluxes do cause our symptoms to fluctuate as well.
I’ve been on HRT for a handful of years now and I still have days when I feel a shift in my body. I get buzzy with tingling and have muscle pain and weakness in my legs when going for walks or taking the stairs. It still scares me.
I hope your neurologist will be able to give you positive feedback. You’re still fairly early in your healing process.
