Financial aid for families

Hi everyone, Just want to say thanks again for all of the kind words and Cyber-hugs!
I have a big problem. I am a single mom and I live 5 hours from where my dad is hospitalized. Needless to say, the costs of driving there every couple of weeks as well as all the other expenses over the last 8 months have mounted to where I am now in really big trouble. Is there any place that offers financial assistance to families or ?? I am really desperate. I hate to ask but I have no choice. I am about to lose my home. I would be grateful even for any donations or if there are any charities I can access…Sorry if I am not supposed to ask for this kind of help here – I just don’t know where else to turn. If I am wrong, please let me know (nicely 🙁 )

Erin, The only place i know of on short order would be a church. they almost always have a fund for helping families out. or maybe a community center.
