I was diagnosed one year ago with GBS. They gave me 5 days of IVIG. I have terrible pains in my upper back and legs. The only thing I’ve found that works is neurontin and Ultram. I was seen by Dr Shin Oh at UAB and he said I now have a normal nerve condunction test and EMG.
Will the pains in my legs get better or is this what I’m stuck with the rest of my life? Is anyone on Topamax?
Hi Gator, Welcome to The Family. I use to use neurontin, until a few weeks ago. It worked well enough for me and I had no reactions to it at all. I can’t use Topamax because of my bp and it just reacts to me in a neurological way. Some people use anti depressants to control pain, its really hard to find just the right combination to fit your needs, everyone is soo different when it comes to meds and what works and doesn’t work. Take care.
