Diabetes and Solumedrol

Anyone else on solumedrol drips? And do you become diabetic during the treatments? If so how long do the episodes last?
I had my first home treatment yesterday (1G) and shot 40units of long acting insulin – and have been shooting at each meal as my blood glucose is still over 200. The endo says I should have symptoms for 2-3 days until the solumedrol reached it’s half life. I was just wondering if anyone else had to deal with all this junk too on top of CIDP?

Cheryl,
I’m a diabetic and solumedrol really raises my blood sugar during my infusions but my blood sugars go back to their normal ranges after a few days. Did you know that some of the IVIG solutions have a glucose base? This can also affect blood sugars. There are brands which do not have a glucose base which doesn’t affect blood sugars as much.
