Dave,

When I saw the news early yesterday morning, I thought of you immediately! May these brave men rest in peace, and may the Lord give their families comfort and strength.

Hello Dave,
I come from a third generation fire men’s family and I did see that news story on the computer when I turned it on Tuesday morning. Nine of them, trapped and gone now. My father and my sister both had a fire men’s service when they died. NINE FIRE MEN HAVE ANSWERED THEIR LAST ALARM, the bell sounds.

My heart cries and bleeds once again for the “Fallen Fire Fighters”

They will be in my prayers along with their familes.

Coming from a Firefighter family(Danny and Frank and many of my friends), it hits home, right to my core of being, never knowing when that call will come. So there are always tears in our family when a Firefighter answers his last call.

Brothers, although I didn’t know you I am sad that you are gone
You’ve been transferred to Heaven’s firehouse, shift begins at dawn
After today I will no longer be sad that have past away
I know that Heaven will be safer now that you are there to stay
You’re friends and family will remember you the way you were
Some of Charleston South Carolina’s bravest that’s for sure
I hope I get to meet you when my time has come
We can swap stories, and I can tell about where I come from
Rest in peace my firefighter brothers

Thank you for your Charleston 9. It is a wonderful tribute. I have a good friend and neighbor who was a fire fighter for many years and will celebrate his 89th birthday on the 4th of July. He liked you remembrance of the Charleston 9 also.
