Access to Full Text Medical Articles?

There is a wealth of medical information out there on the Internet. Unfortunately, laypersons are usually locked out from access to the full text of medical professional articles. The only information available are abstracts of those articles. Sometimes I like to find out more about the topic by reading the full text.

I wonder if anyone knows of a way to gain access. I used to be able to do that a couple of years ago through my daughter’s medical school. This was for free but now as a resident she can not afford to pay for it.
