Not sure what constitutes a “success story” but I got GBS when I was 21 and I am now 67. I had a very good recovery – basically, I was left with foot drop in both my feet. So, while unable to run, I have been able to walk without braces for a long time, and enjoying life with my wife and three boys.
I am interested in people who have been living a long time with GBS. I have been experiencing some increased weakness in ankles, and my balance is not as good as it once was. So, not sure if this is related to “GBS weakeness” or “older age weakness”. Any thoughts? Anybody else experiencing changes after 40 years?
Also, I live in San Francisco Bay Area. I would love to talk to a physician with experience with dealing with people who have had GBS and have lived with it for decades. Any suggestions?
