Hello everyone! Dick and I have decided to place a 2008 Fun Football Game Pool in the site! Because there are rules in the site against these pools as far as money goes or gambling this Pool is going to be for fun only!
We have alot of Football Fans that know Football very well while others don’t know Football at all! This game each two weeks can be played by everyone of us making it easy for a Newcomer that has no Football knowledge at all and even for the Pro that has alot of knowledge!
So everybody can play in the game!
Each week we will announce the winner! The goal of this game is to be the highest number and at the end of the week. The winner will recieve free drinks in the Tavern, lots of pats on the back and recogized as being the Super Champ of the week.
The first four weeks the highest winner will be the Draftpick Pick Winner. Giving you 5 extra points to put on the next four weeks.
Your main goal in this game is to become the Super Bowl King of the Year! A special posting will be announced for the Super Bowl King at the end of the very last game.
When you post your answers. Please make sure you place the Week Number in your postings.
I also need a few volunteers just in case one of us were to get sick and not be able to keep the game going. We never know! So that way our game is still keeping the fun alive on the board!
I’m going to start with Week 1 and Week 2!
We are going to play by guessing who will be the winner for that week. No points or anything like that. Just guessing who will win the games!
ARE WE READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?
Let’s start our games! -

To make the typing easier on us I am only going to use team titles of the winning team that I predict for that week. I’m going to go ahead and play all 4 weeks! But each week we have a winner! Tied winners will be added on to the next game season and the highest scorer will be the winner! So here goes the first player in the game!
Week1: NY Giants, A. Falcons, Cinn. Bengals, Seattle, NY Jets, New England, Tampa Bay, EAGLES, Pittsburgh, Tenn. Titans, Dallas, CAROLINA PANTHERS, 49er’s, Chicago, Green Bay, Oakland Raiders.
Week2: Oakland, Green Bay, Cinn Bengals, CAROLINA PANTHERS, Buffalo Bills, New Orleans, Minnesota, NY Giants, 49ers, Tampa Bay, Miami, New England, Houston, Denver, Pittsburgh, EAGLES!
Week3: Atlanta, Oakland, TAMPA BAY, Houston, NY Giants, CAROLINA PANTHERS, New England, Washington,St. Louis, 49ers, New Orleans, Jacksonville, Cleveland, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES, Green Bay, San Diego
Week4: Tampa Bay, Houston, CAROLINA PANTHERS, Arizona, 49ers, Cleveland, Minnesota, Denver, San Diego, St. Louis, Washington, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES, Baltimore.
Go Eagles! Go Panthers! WOOOO HOOO! Now I have my pool in! Who’s next?

Linda and I talked about some additions to rules to help make it easier to play and understand.
1.) You pick the winners of the games each week. You will have a win-loss record for that week. Like 10 and 6 10 wins and 6 losses.
2.) wins and loss records accumulate through each “session” a session is comprised of 4 weeks. 10 wins week 1, 11 wins week 2, 9 wins week 3, 12 wins week 4 make 32 wins for the four week period.
3.) if you win a 4 week period (best record) you get 5 bonus points to start the next 4 week session.
4.) ribbing about prognistication ability IS allowed, just nothing hateful or hurtful.
5.) Picks must be posted by 9:00 AM gameday. If there is a Thursday night game, you can pick the whole week on Thurs AM if you want to, but you must pick the Thursday game by then. You can pick the other games Sunday. Monday night games need to be picked by Sunday 9:00 am.
6.) picks need to be posted here at this thread. If Linda agrees, you may use my e-mail address in the event the site is down. I will PM my e-mail to participants after week 1.Does that sound GOOD, FAIR, and SIMPLE?
Tell others, lots of time to get in.Dick S

You guys are so lucky that I am playing and have jinxed all the teams I picked !!! I got some winners so far !!
The Indy Game isn’t too good so far.
Linda, you might want to change some Patriots games (or maybe not)
Let’s see how we make out by Monday night. It looks close !!
-
AnonymousSeptember 8, 2008 at 10:06 am
Yep! Tonight is the night! So far all I need is two games and will be the winner for the first week! ๐ But we are just close here! If you win then we will have us a tie game.
So far we have
LindaH 10 winning games
Cheryl 7 winning games
DickS 8 winning gamesSo it looks like we are either going to have a tie game or I am going to be the first weeks winner!:D But we shall see! But things can change into the second week, third week and forth week. You might end up kicking my behind before the season is over with. LOL! Or another person might decide to join us in playing and they may beat us all! LOL! Cheryl.. you still have a chance too. We have the weekly winner and then whom ever wins the most games before the playoffs will be the Champion of the Season!
I might become this weeks winner, but might not become the Champion of the Season!
May the best man-woman win tonight! Good luck! -
AnonymousSeptember 8, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Aaaa I’m too late for week one, but I usually pick by quarterbacks or coaches I like ๐ and my home team Ravens.
So it would have been:
Giants, Lions, Ravens, Seahawks, Jets, Patriots, Bucs, Eagles, Steelers, Jags, Cowboys, Chargers, Cards, BearsSo I’ll pick Monday nights two and then get in next week’s picks, if I’m not too late?
MNF: Vikings, Broncos
Week 2
Bears
Bengals
Lions
Jags
Raiders
Vikings
Giants
Saints
Seahawks
Bucs
Cards
Broncos
Ravens
Jets
Steelers
MNF: Cowboys -
AnonymousSeptember 9, 2008 at 8:31 am
LindaH 11 games won
Cheryl 7 games won
Dick S 9 games won
Smiley 11 games wonSo we have a tie game between LindaH and Smiley!
No weekly winner this week but next week the highest scorer will the winner or until the playoffs!
Since it was our first time playing, I went ahead and added Smiley in the game! So we have a Tie between us two so far!
Dick and Cheryl! You might end up beating us next week. -
AnonymousSeptember 9, 2008 at 10:58 am
Thanks Linda for including me in the game! I was surprised to see I had 11… expected to only be included in the MNF games, which would be ok. But I think I only had 10 winners by including me in? Giants, Ravens, Jets, Patriots, Eagles, Steelers, Cowboys, Cards, Bears, Broncos, so 10 winners if in or just 1for MNF, which is ok with me, I should have posted sooner. Thanks!
-
AnonymousSeptember 9, 2008 at 11:28 am
At the top you picked two MNF so I counted all that you listed and it came to 11! So me and you are tied! LOL! Since I got the game started and Dick and I planned it out. I really don’t want to be the first weeks winner. So I would rather see the tie! Will make next week more interesting! ๐ Hugs

Oh darn! I tell you what! Since I was late posting I will add you in some games. You won’t be the winner this week but it will keep you in the game. I think that’s fair! Lets just say the lowest winner will add you as being tied! That way it will fair! What you the rest of you think? Is that okay Smiley and DickS? If it’s okay then we add Cheryl in this weeks game but being tied. Let me know and then she will be counted in! It was my fault because I did not post the games until the day before. That surgery messed up things! LOL!

Maybe some of us in here like to have fun in our lives and enjoy certain things. Some of us are sports fans while others like racing. And we are sharing! I don’t see whats so Territorial about it? And I have this game listed on the first page telling everybody that even if you don’t know football that you can guess the games and anybody can win. So you don’t need to know about football to win this game. I think enough has been said!

Sports are so diversified…
Tennis hits a little ball back and forth across a net
Basketball tries to get a ball through a hoop
Baseball players throw a ball at each othe and then try to hit iot and run around four bags before anyone tags them
Race cars go fast and turn left and wreck eacj other
Boxers just hit each other until someone falls down and stays down
People slide down mountains on sticks and call it skiing
people throw pointed sticks at boards of wood (darts)
in Golf, players hit a little white ball and chase it around a field and try to put it in a hole in the ground
in Bowling players throw a ball down a strip of wood and knock down sticks at the other end
I suppose we could go on and on.
My son asked me one time why he had to go to his sister’s ballet recital. He didn’t want to see people spin and bounce around a stage in tights. I told him that hard work comes in many different disguises and that expertise in ANY field requires hard work, practice and expertise. I told him to appreciate the form, the pracice, and the devotion that the participants have when they showcase their talents. I takes guts to do ANYTHING in front of a crowd of people.
The biggest thng we can do is be a participant, not a critic. Enjoy the things you like and share in others enjoyment of what they do. The things that others do are as important to them as what you do for yourself.
Linda, I am sorry that you had to go through that

I’ll tell you what, The Panthers absolutely stunk it up last week It was like the game was fixed. They didn’t care.
I remember a game several years ago….. Detroit was playing Tampa Bay. Detroit had Barry Sanders still (It was that long ago). I had heard through the bookie my friend used that Tampa Bay had “locks” vs Detroit. Detroit should have beat them by all rights then. ( I don’t do ANY betting on sports anymore, even before this.) But Tampa Bay was ahead and Detroit got the ball to the Tampa Bay 2 yard line…1st and goal, and Barry Sanders in the backfield. Detroit scores a TD, they win and cover the spread.
They run four plays, Barry Sanders does not touch the ball, they do NOT score, Tampa Bay wins and covers the spread. AND, the bookie says the fix is in……
Carolina had won something like 7 straight in Tampa. They have played pretty well the past few weeks. What a bomb.
I guess I have complained enough.

Don’t look like I am going to be able to tally the scores this week. I am really really sick. Don’t know if it’s the flu or if it’s that Rituxan but I have been bad off for two days now. Going at both ends and don’t know where it’s still coming from. Have barfed enough these two days and still barfing. Can’t even function being online. Not doing the Rituxan this week. Doctor said i could skip a week. Thank God!
Will try to get them together in a few days and hope I am feeling better buy then. Getting offline now! Can’t even stand looking at the monitor! Hugs
