Thank you all vaccine victims for sharing your stories

As I finally received my diagnosis, CIDP caused by a flu shot, I would like thank all of you who shared your vaccine injury stories here or on another CIDP site or on Facebook. If it weren’t for your sharing I would have no idea what I have is CIDP and it was brought on by the flu shot. My neurologists (4 of them, including on from Mayo) all told me vaccine triggered neurological issues are much more common than vaccine manufactures make it out to be but most people just don’t know.

I intend to pay it forward so those who are injured will have a better clue. The same way I was clued in because of you.

      Thank you.

A quick update. Vaccine fund filed. Now the long wait starts.

My local neuro said he has seen thousands of vaccines reactions, most are minor but some are severe such as CIDP and the severe ones are definitely grossly underreported for various reasons. My Mayo neuro after hearing my vaccine story said and I quote “it is truly surprising how often that happens”. I am lucky at least my neuro’s are not the rabid denial types.

So folks, be vigilent. If you suspect your neuropathy is caused by vaccine, follow up with the vaccine fund. They know. Or there wouldn’t be that fund.

Hope all of you have good results.

It’s the anti-vaccine lobby that is “rabid.” Those who rely on scientific data and analysis before drawing conclusions are not “rabid” merely for reaching a different conclusion than yourself.

As a practical matter, most cases of GBS or CIDP which go to vaccine injury court are settled with a stipulation in which the government does not agree that the neuropathy was caused by the vaccine. Although you may very well receive some compensation, it is unlikely that there will be a decision that the vaccine was the cause.

Here’s one more – I received a flu vaccine and a pneumonia vaccine on the same day and within a day or two, symptoms started presenting. This was in 1994 and I went through barrages of tests and treatments because CIDP was not a known problem and I was misdiagnosed as well. It is a very long story which I won’t go into (unless prodded!). I registered years ago with VAERS and was told at the time that my diagnosis was too old to receive any kind of compensation. I just fell upon this website and am trying to update myself on all the info.

Similar to Terri232, I received a flu vaccine and a pneumonia vaccine on the same day. Within a few weeks, maybe 4-8 if not shorter, symptoms started presenting and CIDP kicked in hard.

I’ve had some neurologists say there could be a relationship and do not get flu shots now, while other specialists who seem quite knowledgeable and do research say there is no reason not to get it.
