SubQ

I decided to look into SubQ for CIDP and my insurance company seems to have no idea what I am talking about; they wanted to know whether I would pick it up from the doctor’s office or from a pharmacy. The hospitalization insurance sent me to prescription coverage; prescription coverage said that they didn’t cover it because it is not a pharmacy prescription and sent me to medical devices. Medical devices had no idea what I was talking about. Is anyone receiving SubQ Ig? If so, what are the mechanics of getting it approved and delivered? I have pretty good insurance so I don’t think that is the issue (it may be eventually). I just cannot figure out who to speak with about it. Thanks.

Have your dr’s office work all of that out for you. Your dr will need to write a rx for SubQ – they should also be able to deal with the insurance company.
