Our son is currently being seen in San Francisco for CIDP…we are open now to the feedback of another Dr. Does anyone have any suggestions on who to see? We can travel…that is not an issue.

My neurologist is Dr. Eric Collins, who has an office in Oakland near Summit Hospital. He is experienced with CIDP, and teaches neurology.

Not sure where you are in California but there is a Mayo clinic in Arizona. Dr. Dyck at the Mayo in Minnesota has seen many people who post on this forum & they all report that he is great. Would it be possible to have your son’s current dr speak with Dr. Dyck? That may help your son out until you can find another dr.

Typically adult neuro’s will not see a child, that was the case for us anyway. If you can travel, why not just go straight to Mayo for a positive diagnosis? Is there something with your current doctor’s dx that is making you question the dx? Is your son showing improvement? What treatment is he currently on?

Actually, I think there is a neuropathy clinic in Arizona and I think the doctor works with the site. I can’t remember the name, but if you call the site, they may be able to help you.

By the way, Dr. Collins is on The Best Doctors in America list, along with another neurologist in his group:
