I believe it is May, That was the Month I joined the forum and I found out about because someone said it was GBS Month. Anyway, I’m pretty sure it is May.

I don’t know about an actual ribbon, but I do know before the old forum went down, two very ambtious individuals took it upon themselves to design a magnet for the back of cars that was a dark blue ribbon with GBS & CIDP going down the sides of it. I know I ordered 5 & still have one on the back of my vehicle. Also, Liz designed a rubber bracelet & we were able to order them from her back then. The bracelet is dark blue as well & has GBS/CIDP Find a Cure on it. I’m not sure if there are any available anymore, & I don’t know what month GBS awareness is, but there is one…

Oh I like the green one! But I like blue too! How about if we adopt one that is green and blue. Blue for the sky and green for the ground. I would wear either color! Will they be available again or should I check out the gbsfi store first before I ask this question?

Nice job on that green ribbon!

GBS awareness month is in May. I like the green ribbon too, but since all the other GBS stuff is blue, I think it’s best PR-wise to stick with one color.

The blue color was decided because of the Foundations blue, for no other reason. Many people had their input when we were trying to design this, and unfortunately this can lead to the saying ” …. too many cooks ….”, which is difficult when so many people have different ideas. This is not an official GBS/CIDP ribbon, and not ‘approved’ by the foundation. As many of you know it was sent to those who wanted them, regardless if they could cover the basic cost of the ribbon and postage. Regardless, this was against the rules of the forum (we had thought we had permission, but it turned out we got things mixed up), even though this was just to raise awareness and was given as a gift to many forum members – and no profit was made. I thoroughly enjoyed doing this project, and in the end, even though it was time consuming and exhausting, I felt a great sense of accomplishment.

And on this subject… the ribbon is a little different now but I see they are now available in the online store.

It really looks good! I know when I spoke to Estelle at the beginning of the year, she was wanting to make the ribbons and wrist bands available for the web store.

Oh and I like the ‘helping hands phone huggie” too! If I get one, maybe I won’t misplace my cell phone so often anymore ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
