One Year for Mom

My mom has now had her one year anniversary since her first symptoms of GBS. Hard to believe that it has been a full year.

She has been out of hospital since the end of June and has made tremendous progress with her physio-therapy and now regular pool exercises.

This past weekend, she walked around the grocery store with the cart and she walked 8 unassisted steps in the kitchen….

My mom has slowly come off the majority of her meds and her attitude has improved greatly.

She still suffers when she over does the exercise; a day of fatigue. And she still gets tingling sensations in her feet, but the therapist seems to think that it is a good sign and all part of mom’s recovery.

Here’s looking forward to continued progress.

Thanks for your posts. I have found it very informative.

      Sunni,

This disease can be so frustrating. Progress is so slow at times. Your mom is lucky to have you. Celebrate each small victory with her and please tell her you are both in my prayers. If I can ever help please contact me through here.
