New Tax Bill Will Eliminate Medical Deductions!

    • November 4, 2017 at 4:19 pm

EVERYONE WHO IS CHRONICALLY OR ACUTELY ILL OR WHO KNOWS SOMEBODY WHO IS: PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS AND CONGRESSPEOPLE AND DEMAND THAT CONGRESS **KEEP** THE ITEMIZED MEDICAL EXPENSE TAX DEDUCTION IN THE TAX CODE. AS IT STANDS, IF THEY PASS THE “TAX REFORM BILL” THE WAY IT IS, THEY WILL BE TAKING MONEY THAT WE CHRONICALLY ILL CAN USE AS A DEDUCTION AT TAX TIME (Such as IVIG Co-payments etc,) AND USE IT TO FUND TAX DISCOUNTS FOR BIG CORPORATIONS and other “Pet Projects”..leaving we disabled out in the cold!

Please…call or email your senators and congresspeople….it’s a matter of financial solvency for most people who have the misfortune of having to rely on the tax deduction for medical expenses on their federal income taxes.

FIND YOUR SENATORS: https://www.senate.gov/…/reference_inde…/Directories_vrd.htm (and email or call them!)

Find Your Congresspeople: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find/ (And email or call them)

Please…this is important to millions of disabled Americans!

Thank you DazedandConfused, this bill could be very hard on anyone with a chronic illness or disability in the U.S.. Now that it has passed the senate, the house and senate versions need to be reconciled into a single version. If that happens, it will be law. A second concern is healthcare insurance premiums, since the final bill may remove the insurance mandate there’s a liklihood that premiums will spike higher due to less participation. It is prudent to call your congress and senate reps if you disagree with the direction of this bill.
