Can anyone tell me if this is normal?? He was diagnosed on 5/28/13, could respond when taken off the sedation meds, 2 days later they could not wake him up. He hasn’t been on any sedation meds since 5/30/13 and still not responding. Is this part of the acute GBS? Please help!!
I can only relate my experience. I hope this helps some.
With no prior symptoms, I was diagnosed with GBS on 10/15/12 and went into a coma on 10/16/12 which lasted about 7 weeks. I was on a ventilator for a good portion of that time. A couple of weeks later I was transferred to a rehab hospital which lasted 5 weeks. Next I went home. Currently, I attend OT and PT twice a week. My mind seems okay (my sons might argue otherwise). I can walk some with braces and a cane. I hope to continue to improve.
Good to luck to your Dad and your entire family.
Eric
