Insurance Required IG Blood Test

It is time for the insurer to approve the next set of IVIG infusions. They state their protocol requires an IG test before they can approve the next 6 to 12 months of infusions. I am not aware of ever having this test before and am not sure what the test results will show the insuror. Does anyone know how this test is used in CIPD diagnosis or ongoing treatment? Wouldn’t the test be impacted by the time since the latest IVIG infusion? Other comments and thoughts are appreciated.

The term “IG test” is too vague. There needs to be more detail specified to fully understand what they are looking for and what conditions might affect results. Perhaps the following info can help you understand the questions to ask:

Yes, unfortunately that is all the information we got. The insuror asked the infusion center who asked me to ask the neurologist for the test. There was a contact between the infusion center and the neuro but we don’t have the details. I have asked for a copy of the results and will know then.

The links look good. I will review those in detail this weekend. Thanks for your help.
