Forum Search Not Working

    • November 5, 2014 at 7:29 pm

I have tried doing forum searches on topics and keywords I know are in the forum database, the searches find nothing. Ditto for searches about cidp and gbs. This is an important function that helps forum visitors find information to help them. Please see what can be done to restore this broken functionality. Thanks, Jim

      Hello.
The search at the top right should be searching the main GBS-CIDP website. For forum specific searches, please try the “Search the forums…” search box at the top of the forums pages.

Please let us know if this is still not working.

      Thank you.

I used both search boxes and the Forum search didn’t work at the time. Since then the function has been working intermittently. Its working right now as I posted these comments, but wasn’t a few days ago.

The forum search function has become very limited in what it can find. It used to lookup keywords in both threads and the “tags” field. It no longer seems to be using the tags field. I entered SCIg into the tag field on a few posts and have given the site a few weeks to see if it would show in search. The forum search does not find any terms for SCIg and there are numerous tage and threads containing the term.

The forum database acts as a knowledge base and the search is supposed to help participants access that knowledge through keyword searches. Many forum users are creating duplicate threads because existing ones don’t come up in a search. The lack of a proper search function defeats the purpose of the forum which is designed to help people find support.

Would it be possible to restore the search function to work as it has in the past?

      Thank you
