Amtrak – LA to KC: Los Angeles’ Union Station

This year we decided to give ourselves a treat…….A Thanksgiving NIGHTMARE!
So, we travelled via Amtrak from Los Angeles to Kansas City (enroute to our final destination).

We had “First Class Accomodations” – a sleeper room with private shower AND toilet, which included “First Class Dining” in the Dining Car.

The sleeper room was cramped,
The bed uncomfortable,
The food barely passable,
They don’t wash/clean the windows inside or out, or anything else,
The tracks are in poor condition so, the train (going as fast as they could, of course) nearly constantly lurched violently in all directions,
The temperature in the room went from too hot to too cold and they can’t keep it constant,
and of course the attitude of Amtrak employees is like that of the post office.

Other than that is was wonderful…..
