Has anyone out there been prescribed Amantadine to help decrease fatigue, and what were the effects?

      Hi Bill,

The only thing I have read about Amantadine is that it is an anti-viral med used for people who get the flu and to control stiffness in the muscles and shaking that comes with Parkinson’s disease. I haven’t read anything about it helping to decrease fatique. I know that Drs use Provigil to combat fatique.

Maybe someone else knows if it’s used for fatique.

I tried Amantadine for a month last summers and it gave me such bad side effects that I had to stopp taken it. Maybe it has worked for someone else.

my neuro Rxed amantadine for fatigue. it never helped, but i took it last winter cuz, as brandy said, it can help prevent type I viruses. since i take no flu shots, it seemed prudent. take care. be well.
