symptoms are weakness and sensory loss in feet, ankles and calves–unable to stand on toes or heels. spinal fluid was 55 and clear,emg/ncv abnormal, showed active cidp, nerve biopsy showed some axonal involvemnet and a pattern of 1%demylination–3% remylination (i didnt quite understand this, is was on my report i received in mail, so havent had a chance to ? dr on it) no autonomic involvement, its distal, slowly progressive weakness—seems to be in the active but stabile stage. Right foot affected a little more than left.

I have great doctors but they read medical textbooks and it has limited information so usually the answer is no or I don’t know. The week that all my symptoms started I also started with ashma ,both my Neuroligist and pulmalogist said no relationship.I don’t believe them. As for cold feelings I keep an electric throw comfortable in my chair and the rest of the family will be sweating and I am under it to my nose. It is not so much the temperature as a celing fan with air movement. Hang in there and continue to educate the medical field.

Hi Pablo
The symptoms you describe sound a bit different from those experienced by Norb, Allaug and I. In our case, as mentioned by Norb, there was a slow progressive numbness in the peripheral nerves. For me it started in the soles of the feet, then moved into the toes and then gradually started up the legs. My ability to walk properly was affected, and I had a stocking and glove sensation. Blankets in bed felt really heavy on my feet.
Then it started in my hands too, gradually moving from the finger tips into the hands in general.
I did not experience any pain (although perhaps some people do have nerve pain). Nor was there any dizziness. Only a loss of the sense of balance due to damage to the nerves in the bottom of the feet.
I am wondering whether you should seek further medical diagnosis for other illnesses. When you mention anti-MAG, it may be from another disease other than the one we three share – IgM MGUS or “PDN”.
I hope that you are able to get a firm diagnosis. Have you had an MRI?
Andrew
