Hi again,
My problem with LOCAL AREA CONNECTION started again today. The error message pops up like a balloon. I CAN access the internet, but this time my CABLE MODEM LIGHTS started to blink on and off. When I tried to open a page, it just sat there, wouldn’t load, then I got PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED MESSAGE. I shut down everything completely, turned back on, then rebooted. It seems to be working okay now. I called the cable company and they said it is a problem with the cable wire that connects to modem and they told me to call them right away if it happens again. They can’t check connections unless problem is happening at that moment.

Any advice or suggestions about what I should do will ease my PANIC. Is it time to change to connection through my phone company.

I will try checking the conneections to the cable modem and unplug and plug in again, I know that can reboot, but I thought I’d just add this.

I clicked to open START, clicked on CONNECT TO because it showed a “plug”, that brought up NETWORK CONNECTIONS. After I clicked CONNECT TO, I next clicked SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS. That shows a DISCONNECT for America on Line dial up, but I don’t have dial up. I have CABLE and LAN and HIGH SPEED INTERNET show connected.

I have to pay attention to something, the “unplugged” NETWORK CONNECTION error, may just be appearing when I go to mail on AOL. If this is so, is it possible my brilliant computer “thinks” I’m disconnected with dial-up.

I will have to wait until TUE to check my connections so someone is at my house to get behind my desk.
