How do you know if you can do anything? Well, by trying! Also in the going from to and fro…use your mind carefully. Pace out walking, and waits [like at a check out] and back to vehicle and home. IF you get overtired at first? The next few steps are gonna be harder. Start out small, and venture further in time and length of what you do. Carefully map out: I’m gonna do this short thing – today; that thing- tomorrow and on… Build your strength and endurance up so that you mite just find that you could actually do 2-4 things in an outing. That includes doc appts too. The ‘UH-OH!’ moments can come up suddenly and always when there’s no one to help! Just regroup and slog on. You’d be surprised at what you can do if you must.
The roller coaster IS normal! Thus the pacing of what you, do ; when you do it, and how you do it. It’s a slow and dreary building-up process. But do keep notes, you mite be surprised if, after say 6 months? You are doing lots more than at the beginning. You won’t notice unless you keep stupid silly notes tho.
Keep at it! But never leave home w/o your cane! Can’t tell when you mite need it, and when you do? You will be grateful that you were so smart!
