Retired employment attorney; born 1948; married; live in DC suburb. Severe GBS in 1999; 2 months in ICU, 4 months on vent, 7 months in hospitals; completed paralyzed for 4+ months. Returned to work in 2001. Retired in 2009. Mild residual effects -- weak dorsal flexion, some loss of finger dexterity, mild balance issues. Surprisingly, little fatigue.
