So glad to be back

I don’t know how long this has been back but I’m sure glad it is.
I used to post here until the hack job. That was a rotten thing to do to such an important info type site like this one.
My son Nate is doing fairly well for 7 mos out. He has good upper body strength, wheels himself all over the facility, and is starting to get movement in his hips and upper thighs.
He can also lift his feet off the ground when he’s sitting.
He told me to day that he is getting little stabbing pains in his lower legs lately but he doesn’t mind. He knows that is a good sign.
I finally got him online today with my laptop. His brother Ben found out with his phone that the facility Nate’s in has wireless routers in their offices. Nate can pick them up with my wirelss card.
I gave him a link to this site. He says he will be checking this place out in the morning.
Glad to be back and thankyou for giving us back the great info I find here.

Nate found out a couple of weeks ago that there was another patient in Fountain Care with GBS. They told him they were planning to move George to the long term section also.
Nate, being his sweet self, went in and asked his case worker if they could move George into his room so he could help him.
It was perfect timing since his old roommate had pneumonia and had to go to St Joseph Hospital.
They moved George in with Nate and it is working out very well.
George didn’t know too much about what to expect so Nate gave him an extra packet he had.
George is very happy to have that info and Nate answering questions and just being a buddy to him.
Nate also told me his card for the Orange County Access Bus came yesterday. Now he can go places much easier now than before.
Funny how things work out when you least expect them to.

It’s so nice to hear of someone helping others. That makes such a difference in recovery. Tell Nate the sky’s the limit. Take care. You have a lot to be proud of.
