Ode to our Syndrome

      [SIZE=”2″][I]I got the Blues
      Can’t wear my shoes

      Feet feel like clubs
      Worn down to stubs

      Used to be so agile
      Now I’m so fragile

      It’s hard to swallow
      More symptoms follow

      Can’t make a fist
      Nor flex my wrist

      Stumbling on stairs
      Falling off chairs

      What if I trip?
      Could break a hip

      Fingers so lame
      Can’t even write my name

      Legs are on fire
      So quick to tire

      Gotta take all these pills
      Can’t pay my bills

      Nurse can’t find a vein
      Darn, I dropped my cane

      Takes so long to get dressed
      I’m really stressed

      I’m losing my hair
      It just isn’t fair

      Do you feel the same way?
      Let’s call it a day

      We’ll go have a drink
      Champagne I think

      And drown all our troubles
      In a sea of bubbles
      😀

      Veronica, talk about “Sad, but true”. Very clever. As true as your poem may be it made me laugh and if we can’t laugh at ourselves where do we go for humor?
