Here is my Pre-transplant Schedule

this is only the “pre” transplant schedule… at the end of these weeks, i am then hospitalized, given 4 days of high dose chemo and then re-infused with my own stem cells. they estimate that i will be in the hospital for one month, depending upon how fast my immune system rebuilds and of course, infections… i will be hospitalized in a special transplant ward, in a private room with an air filtering system, etc.

I am curious do they quarentine you before knocking out your immune system to make sure no viruses are incubating with in you that you picked up before entering the hospital? I really dont know what I talking about but I was just wondering how that works?

they just check you thoroughly– pump antibiotics, anti-fungal and anti-viral meds through you…
once they crash your immune system, then you stay in a protected area.
