Helping

You never know how much you learn here and when you can help.
I was at a wake the other night and a woman came up to me and said “I Want to talk to you”. I have known her for several years and we never talked health issues. Turns out she had GBS about thirty years ago and all this time has been worried about a relapse. From what I have learned on the forums I was able to assure her that although relapses are possible the incidence is very low. I felt she was very relieved and I felt great that I could offer that knowledge.
Keep reading and reaching out – you may be the person that sparks big interest in finding more about GBS.

Thanks for the thread. I knew that there are reoccurrences 20+ years after the initial onset and I guess I was sort of expecting that as part of the whole package. It’s nice to know that someone is 30 years after and has not had that relapse. It’s easy to get paranoid about every little “setback” and wonder if this is the ONE!
