genetics and GBS

My husband, Brad, was diagnosed with GBS 5.5 years ago. Now his sister is being diagnosed and treated for it. What are the chances of siblings having the same diagnosis?  Lucky for her, I hope, her diagnosis has come earlier in the disease process and she is receiving the standard treatment – which my husband didn’t. I pray her outcome is better than his.  Anyway, any comments of this disease within the same family?

Here’s a link to an article on genetics and peripheral neuropathies:
      http://www.gbs-cidp.org/newsletters/printer%20versions/inherited%20peripheral%20neuropathies%20as%20they%20relate%20to%20gbs%20&%20cidp.htm
“… it is clear that the majority of patients with GBS and CIDP do not have CMT and that in general, there is no clear genetic predisposition to these inflammatory disorders.”
