CIDP Service Dogs?

Hey y’all!

I haven’t been on here in ages. I am currently getting IVIG every 3 weeks through a chest port and have finally accepted the reality of my CIDP diagnosis.

I am picking up a puppy named Phoenix today that I adopted! I am hoping that I can owner train him to become a Service Dog in the future for my disabilities. I use a power wheelchair and have had a lot of issues from CIDP. My doctor agrees that it will be a wonderful tool and he’ll be an amazing companion.

Anyway, I wanted to see if anyone else here has a Service Dog for CIDP? I’d love to connect and see what training tools you’ve used! I shadowed under a veteran’s service dog organization to learn their training methods and also was a rescue/foster parent for over a decade. I did some of the shelter’s behavioral training classes for dogs. I am home all of the time and I have so much time to dedicate!

I see so many Service Dogs for other conditions on Youtube, Instagram, etc but I wanted to see my CIDP warriors!
