I just had surgery on my foot and was told that my bones in my foot are mushy. I know this is a new symptom since I had surgery on the same toe 3 years ago and my bone was fine. Has anyone had issues with their bones getting mushy? I have never been diagnosed with Osteoporosis.
Thanks,
Noelle
Have you been on Prednisone at all? I was on it at high doses for a long time and docs decided to do a bone density scan because of that…thankfully, results came back ok for me.
Ditto on the steroid question. It ties in with long term use and age. For example, an NIH article says: “Steroid-induced osteoporosis remained a problem, especially in older patients.”
