5mgs is a very low dose

5 mgs is a very low dose and usually you do not get bad side effects on that low of a dose. It’s the high doses you have to worry about. The higher doses of prednisone can cause alot of problems. He may keep weaning you down until you get to 1mg and then stop totally. A very slow tapering off the drug. The only thing about getting to the low doses, is if you have been on high doses and you may experience some withdrawal symptoms. Making you feel like you have no energy and fatigue issues but the low doses is what these doctor’s would rather see! Good to see you on that lower dose and hope you get better soon. Hugs
