Stress Before GBS?

Rite before I got sick with a stomach flue and stricken with GBS I was under tremendous stress and physical exhaustion due to marriage problems and work load. I was wondering if anyone else was also going through stressful times before diagnosed with GBS?

My son is a student and was studying hard and working, where he lives requires a lot of walking, I know he did not have a proper nutrition although I begged him. He tells me he wasn’t stress ( which I think he was but doesn’t show it) I think maybe all this has to do with nutrition and stress)

Acquiring GBS is not a matter of poor diet or stress. It is triggered by an infection which mimics some aspect of the nervous system. Most people are not susceptible to developing GBS from a particular infection, but some are, for reasons which are not understood.

For me, I was not sick or fighting any sort of infection but under great stress 8 days before my own GBS and Miller Fisher symptoms showed themselves. What followed was fast paralysis until 3 days after my first symptoms started I was pretty much paralyzed from the neck down due to the attacking on the nervous system. People may not know how stress causes GBS but for me, I 100% agree that if I wasn’t going through such a stressful time, I would not have contracted it and need the assistance of nurses and aids at 23 to be able to function.
