Advice needed about Explaining CIDP

Hey guys, I need some advice. I recently had to quit my job because of my latest CIDP flare up. Because of this, my Grandma won’t stop saying that this is my fault that this is happening to me because I’m “Not taking care of myself, I need to get out and walk for an hour every day.” I get 8 hours of sleep at least (some days I end up sleeping longer because I’m just so tired all the time), I eat just fine, and I go out every other day and walk for a bit, but I can’t walk that much anymore as my legs start giving out after so long. No matter how much I tell her there’s no way I can really control this besides medication, she continues to blame me for this. Is there any way I can explain this condition to her in a way she’ll understand? I’ve told her it’s my immune system damaging the nerves in my arms and legs, but she doesn’t seem to understand it. I’m about ready to leave at this point, but I have no where to go and I do care about her very much. I just can’t take this every single day anymore. I have enough to worry about with trying to figure out how to manage my CIDP since it’s been getting worse.

Google CIDP where you will find a lot of articles explaining CIDP. Show her the articles. If she won’t read them, read them to her. Also, you could take her to your doctor for explanation.
