What They Said Was…

What Lee said was:
Welcome back, Soapy.
What Lee meant was:
Welcome back Soapy! In the past, this forum had individuals who treated this forum as a sort of social club that was too good for the common riff-raff. Some very good people left this site as a result of those attitudes.
GBS and CIDP do not recognize social classes or occupations. It will strike anybody equally. Because some of the people who are rough around the edges still have to deal with our common afflictions, it is important for our community to have input from mechanics, farmers, bull dozer operators, stay at home moms, as well as lawyers and account executives.
I believe the community life of this forum suffered because many people were afraid to say things they truly believed, or that they were afraid of the consequences of being themselves.
With that being said, I am glad you decided to come back to our community. You belong here as much as anyone else. You paid your dues. Actually, since you have CIDP, you are still paying your dues. I hope the atmosphere is better now, but we need people like you to make this an interesting, viable, and diverse community, just like the GBS and CIDP community is, as a whole.
Thanks for coming back.
