I need some advice-has anyone been successful with weight loss and GBS. I got GBS last Oct. from childbirth, so I still have my baby weight and then some! It’s hard to exercise because of the fatigue and I just can’t lift the weights like before. Hey,I am having a time with my ever-growing baby!! Please let me know your success stories-thanks! and please take care-Kim

Hey nathaniels momma- I have a nathan too, but he’s 9!! And also a Johnathan, he is 3. I got GBS in Feb, so I know how challenging motherhood can be with children. As far as weight loss, your best bet is healthy, balanced meals, low sugar, some protein. Are you doing any PT or workout to build muscle/strength?? It helps me alot to do a 45 min. workout twice a week. Consistency with diet and exercise is key. Stay away from pies, cookies, even tho it is hard around all the summer picnics-I think I gained a lb or two last week from picnicing. Us GBS’ers dont have the energy / stamina to burn off the extra calories. I try to eat alot of salad with lean meats. 😀

🙂 I gained a ton of weight being depressed an bedridden and unable to walk with GBS. Thankfully I recovered and am back in my classroom-albeit with 50 extra pounds. I have severe neuropathy in my feet. I have started swimming recently at a local comm. center-I am sarting to feel better already-many of these have childcare. Good luck!

thanks all for your support and ideas! It is so frustrating-but my family reminds me all the time how just 6 months ago, I was unable to walk and to take care of the baby. I was wondering if others found weight gain with Neurotin-my brother also taking the meds and he gained 7 lbs (he has a very fast metabolism!)
      Well, please take care!-Kim
