visiting GBS patient

Been trying to go visiting a GBS patient in the Hospital at U of M. I have been talking with a social worker about doing a visitation. He wouldnt tell me if there are any patients currently there. He knows he has to ask the person if they want a visit. He remembers me (the social worker) when I was there 2 years ago. He wants to look into it more to get others blessing on it.(red tape)
Anyway I remember a friend coming to see me that also had GBS 10 years earlier and was a blessing to me to talk to. This is the flu season and I figure there should be a patient ready to get there any day. And I would feel honored to go and visit someone that is in the same boat I was 2 years earlier.
I am currently laid off here in Mi. in construction and now have some time to go and do something like this.
